Last weekend, I went to the city park with my best friend Lily. We planned to have a picnic there. The weather was 1 in the morning. The sun shone softly, and there was a gentle wind. We bought some bread, milk and fruit before going out. When we arrived, we found a big tree and put our picnic cloth under it.
Lily wanted to fly a kite, but she 2 bring it. She left it on her desk at home. I told her not to be sad, and we could play other games. We chose to play badminton. At first, Lily could not hit the ball well, 3 she practiced hard and improved quickly.
Around noon, we started to eat our lunch. The food tasted 4 because we were very hungry. After lunch, we saw a little cat. It looked thin and hungry, so we gave it some bread. The cat was friendly and rubbed our legs.
Time passed fast. It was nearly evening when we decided to go home. We felt tired 5 very happy. This small trip taught me that happiness does not need expensive things. Simple time with friends is enough. I hope we can go to the park 6 next month.
On the way home, we talked about our school life. Lily said she 7 join the English club to improve her speaking. I decided to read one English story every day. We encouraged 8 other to keep our promises. When I got home, I wrote down this wonderful day in my diary. I believe this memory will stay fresh in my mind 9 many years. If I feel upset later, I will think of this warm day to cheer 10 up.
